Jayden McGinlay talks music and ‘Children of the Corn’

Australian actor, Jayden McGinlay, showcases his range of acting skills as Cecil Williams in the Lionsgate reimagining of Stephen King’s, Children of the Corn.

Synopsis: Possessed by a spirit in a dying cornfield, a twelve-year-old girl in Nebraska recruits the other children in her small town to go on a bloody rampage and kill all the adults and anyone else who opposes her. A bright high schooler who won’t go along with the plan is the town’s only hope of survival.

Directed and written by Kurt Wimmer (Ultraviolet), Children of the Corn is based upon the short story “Children of the Corn” by Stephen King and stars Elena Kampouris (Before I Fall), Kate Moyer (“Station Eleven”), Callan Mulvey (The Gray Man) and Bruce Spence (The Road Warrior).

 He’s most recently known for his lead role as, “Teddy”, in the Disney movie, The Curious Case of Dolphin Bay, and for playing ‘Max’ in the Netflix release Sweet River and is best known for his starring role as “Jeremy Potts” in the Australian tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, opposite Rachael Back and David Hobson, his role as “Friedrich” in the London Palladium Production of The Sound of Music, and his on-screen appearances including ABC’s Harrow, The Bureau of Magical Things.  

Jayden has been awarded three scholarships through the American Arts, Film and Television Academy in recognition of his acting talents! He also has eleven years of training in singing, dancing and piano and in his free time he can be found writing, recording, and producing his own music! He also has a strong passion for supporting wildlife charities including World Animal Protection and Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.
