When award-winning British musical theatre writers and composers Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss created SIX, they sparked a global sensation that reimagined the musical theater format. Long before the show took over the world, two (of six) magnetic performers anchored its heart and glam in the West End: Aimie Atkinson and Natalie Paris. As the original Katherine Howard and Jane Seymour, their voices were forever immortalized on the iconic studio cast recording, setting the standard for countless Queens who came after them. Chalk it up to perfect timing or glitter-induced fate, but fresh off the heels of SIX: The Musical Live!, the filmed stage recording recently released in theaters, they made the leap to Broadway. Before SIX officially concludes its historic NYC run on January 3, 2027, these OG West End queens have reclaimed their gold crowns eight years later to make HERstory once again, now at the Lena Horne Theatre.

As a longtime fan who spent years waiting with bated breath for the production to cross the pond, getting to experience these royal forces live in consort with two of the original queens reprising their roles was an absolute delight. We sat down with Aimie and Natalie to reminisce about originating these characters eight years ago and bringing their West End swagger to the Big Apple. Later that evening, we caught their Friday night performance—and let’s just say, the Brits have officially taken over Broadway.
