
Alain Uy is a multi-hyphenate actor, director, producer, and writer whose latest roles showcase his talent for portraying sharp, enigmatic figures who navigate high-stakes worlds with precision and control.
Alain’s newest role is alongside Maggie Q in Amazon’s highly anticipated “Ballard”. Alain will portray Nelson Hastings, a politically shrewd operator willing to do whatever it takes to secure his longtime friend Jake Pearlman’s success. The role taps into Alain’s knack for crafting characters whose ambitions simmer beneath the surface, revealing their full scope in carefully measured moves. “Ballard” is a continuation from the Detective Renée Ballard sequence based on the novels written by Michael Connelly. The series premiered in July.

Previous TV credits include FOX’s hit drama series “The Cleaning Lady” where he joined the cast for season four, STARZ’s “Power Book IV: Force” where he appeared as AUSA Bill Tseng since 2023, Hulu/Marvel’s thriller-drama series “Helstrom,” the first series in Marvel Television’s Adventure into Fear franchise, the ABC series “Station 19” as Captain Pat Aquino, a firefighter with a complex past and a deep sense of duty. Additionally, his recent film credits include starring alongside Mark Wahlberg in the biographical-drama “Father Stu” (Sony Pictures) and Winona Ryder in the indie-thriller “Gone in the Night,” to a standout role in the indie action/comedy feature “The Paper Tigers,” where he portrayed Danny, one of three Kung Fu prodigies navigating middle age while avenging their master’s murder. Alain’s performance in the latter was lauded for its depth, humor, and ability to balance action and comedy, making the film an instant cult classic. Additional credits for Alain include HBO’s “True Detective,” ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Grimm,” “Pure Genius,” “The Last Ship,” “Rizzoli & Isles,” and Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show,” to name a few.
Additionally, Alain expanded his skill set and founded the production company, Them Too, working alongside A-list talent such as: The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki, Avicii, DeadMau5, and Calvin Harris. Alain has directed new media profiles, live events, and short docs for Pharell Williams, Questlove, Jay Z, Kanye, Drake, Travis Scott, Rev Run and comedian Jo Koy for Comedy Central.
