On Thursday, during the PlayStation State of Play livestream, more footage from the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 game, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, was released! As showcased in previous footage, this new installment in the Ratchet & Clank series will push the PlayStation 5 to its potential by instantly loading various dimensions faster than any PlayStation console ever before. One prominent aspect of this footage, is the fact that fans get to see the new female Lombax character in action; her name is Rivet!
Longtime players of this beloved PlayStation series will recognize some familiar faces such as not only Ratchet and Clank themselves, but also, the one and only Dr. Nefarious!
Rift Apart will also take full advantage of the Dualsense Wireless Controller’s haptic feedback capabilities, especially when players are fighting off enemies with Ratchet’s various signature weapons.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is going to be released on June 11th, 2021. Players who purchase the digital deluxe edition of the game will receive five armor sets, a sticker pack for photo mode, 20 Raritanium, a digital soundtrack, and a digital art book. By pre-ordering any edition of Rift Apart, the player is guaranteed the Carbonox Armor suit from the 2003 classic, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and the Pixelizer weapon that appeared in the 2016 remake of the original Ratchet & Clank game. An additional pre-order bonus will consist of a $5 credit to spend on the PlayStation Gear store.
Personally, the main aspects of this game that I am looking forward to, are the combat and stunning visuals. Over the years, as more Ratchet & Clank games have been released, there have been numerous intricate weapons introduced. The graphics also just keep getting better and more realistic.
