Hawaiian actress Mahina Napoleon shines as Ginny in “The Walking Dead” spin off series, “The Walking Dead: Dead City.”

Quickly emerging as one of the youngest breakout stars in Hollywood, Mahina has captivated audiences with a presence far beyond her years. She first garnered attention as Julie Tennant, the spirited daughter of Special Agent Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) on CBS’s “NCIS: Hawai‘i.” But it’s her gripping turn as Ginny in “The Walking Dead: Dead City” that has firmly established her as one to watch. In a haunting, largely nonverbal performance throughout Season 1, Mahina conveyed fear, grief, and resilience with remarkable emotional depth—culminating in a finale that shocked audiences and gave her character a powerful voice.
Mahina’s character, having endured profound personal loss, becomes a key emotional anchor in Negan’s journey, forming a fragile but compelling bond. With Season 2 promising even more evolution for both Ginny and the series, Mahina continues to cement her place as one of Hollywood’s most compelling rising talents.
Check out our interview with Mahina:
“The Walking Dead: Dead City” follows the popular Maggie and Negan characters traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror. In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.
In addition to Mahina, The series also stars Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan along with Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, Lisa Emery, Logan Kim, Dascha Polanco, Kim Coates, amongst others.
