Louis Henry Mitchell on a mission to guide others to discover their innate creativity with the release of his debut self-help book, Qreative Evolution: How to Question Everything to Find Your Creative Fulfillment, to inspire us to harness our own creative power.

Louis is the Creative Director of Character Design at Sesame Workshop – the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street, where he directs and oversees all aspects of character art. This includes directing celebrity guests on-screen, staging Muppet photo shoots, and designing new muppets. Louis designed the character Julia, the first Sesame Street autism character. He also designed the two new African American Muppets, Wesley and his Muppet father, Elijah, for Sesame Workshop’s Racial Justice initiative and Ji-Young for the “Coming Together” initiative against anti-Asian violence, and a host of other human nationality Muppets.

When he was six years old, Louis first saw Muppet creator Jim Henson and Kermit the Frog on the Ed Sullivan Show, and a spark was lit that would ultimately lead him to his position at Sesame Workshop. From his early days in comic book illustration, to entertainment design, and finally his dream job, Louis’s journey has inspired him to encourage others to follow their heart and create their life with purpose. His belief that ‘everyone is an artist’ is the core principle behind Qreative Evolution.

Check out our interview with Louis:

Creativity is not just reserved for children or people who work in artistic fields, it is deeply ingrained in the human spirit. In Qreative Evolution, Louis delivers a fascinating new approach to overcoming self-doubt and understanding how to reach your fullest potential in all areas of life—self-love, friendships, family bonds, intimate relationships, jobs, and hobbies. Each chapter opens with relatable, courageous, and heartfelt personal stories from Louis’ illustrious life and career. Then provides readers with the tools and support needed to achieve the life they are meant to live. Along the way, Louis reminds you to question the challenges, obstacles, and opportunities set in your path—as they are not happening to you but rather serve as lessons for you.

Qreative Evolution: How to Question Everything to Find Your Creative Fulfillment is available for purchase through Blackstone Publishing.
