Die Alone is not your typical zombie film. This fresh take on the genre leaves its audience asking, what does it mean to be human?

Die Alone follows Ethan (Douglas Smith), a young man with amnesia, who wakes to discover that humanity has destroyed the earth and nature is reclaiming itself with moss-covered roaming dead. In this dangerous post-apocalyptic future, Ethan clings to one purpose, finding his girlfriend Emma (Kimberly-Sue Murray). He soon finds himself in the crosshairs of Mae (Carrie-Anne Moss), a tenacious and eccentric survivalist. Unable to rely on his own fragmented memories, Ethan forms an uneasy alliance with Mae. Under constant attack from the moss-covered ‘reclaimed’, Ethan crosses paths with Kai (Frank Grillo), a mysterious figure who may hold the secret to his fractured memories.

Director’s Statement:

To me, Die Alone is an exploration of one question: ‘How far would you go for the person you love’? It’s a film about holding onto what you believe, even when hope is gone.

When I wrote Die Alone, I was fascinated by the idea of waking up every day to the worst day of your life—a highly relatable sentiment in 2024. That’s what our main character, Ethan, experiences day in and day out as an amnesiac. He’s constantly blacking out and finding himself, over and over again, in a post-apocalyptic world.

Die Alone is a very different film from my previous work, and I’m excited to see how people respond to it. It’s still very much a genre film, but it’s more earnest and ‘human’. It’s a film about survival and how we treat others.

Die Alone hits Theaters, On Digital and On Demand on October 18, 2024!
