Carter Smith on the ride or die thriller ‘The Passenger’

Carter Smith (Swallowed) really ups the suspense with his coming-of-age hostage road-trip thriller with, The Passenger.

The Passenger follows Randy (Johnny Berchtold) who is perfectly content fading into the background. But when his coworker Benson (Kyle Gallner) goes on a sudden and violent rampage leaving a trail of destruction in his wake, Randy is forced to face his fears and confront his troubled past to survive.

THE PASSENGER follows the journey two flawed, complex characters embark on after a sudden life altering event leads them to confront the troubles in their past to right the wrongs in their lives before time runs out.

The Passenger stars Kyle Gallner (Scream, Smile), Johnny Berchtold (“Tiny Beautiful Things,” Snow Falls) and Liza Weil (“How to Get Away with Murder,” “Gilmore Girls”). The film is directed by Carter Smith and written by Jack Stanley (Lou). The film was executive produced by Lauren Downey, Jeremy Gold, Chris McCumber and Jason Blum.

The Passenger hits Digital and On Demand August 4 and will come to MGM+ later in 2023.
