Writer-Director Alrik Bursell, known for his festival-winning short films, has made his feature film debut with his sci-fi film, The Alternate.
Produced by Jeffrey Allard (executive producer of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), The Alternate stars Ed Gonzalez Moreno, Natalia Dominguez, and Syra McCarthy.
The Alternate, scripted by director Bursell, who has directed five short films including Strange Thing, and has played at over 20 film festivals worldwide.
Synopsis: Jake, a videographer, discovers a portal to another dimension in which he has everything he has always wanted: the perfect version of his wife, the career of his dreams, and the daughter he never had. He starts traveling back and forth between these two worlds but soon sees that his alternate is not as perfect as he seems, and perfection comes with a price. This film asks the ultimate question: what would happen if you confronted your idealized self?
