Since he was 18 years old, Johnny Martin has been solely working in the film and television industry. He began his career as a stuntman/actor, and within a relatively short period of time, graduated to being a stunt coordinator and second-unit director. In those capacities, Johnny has worked on over 260 films, TV shows, and commercials, and even won the award for Best Stunt Coordinator of the Year for the film Gone in 60 Seconds. Johnny also received a Screen Actors Guild award nomination for his work on X-Men: First Class.
In 2003, Johnny launched his own production company, Martini Films. In just its first year, Johnny produced three films under the Martini banner, with two of the films receiving SYFY Channel’s Premiere of the Year. In 2012, Martini Films was one of the first U.S. companies to partner with China Film Group (“CFG”) for the feature film Urban Games, which was entirely shot in China and Korea. Martini Films has so far produced 23 films, for Lionsgate, Sony, Paramount, and Saban.
In 2014, Johnny made his directorial debut on the horror film Case#13, and was then hired in 2016 to direct the film Vengeance: A Love Story starring Nicholas Cage and Don Johnson. Johnny followed up that film with 2018’s Hangman, starring Al Pacino, Karl Urban, and Brittany Snow; 2020’s Alone starring Donald Sutherland and Tyler Posey; and now, Johnny’s 2025 film Off the Grid with Josh Duhamel and Greg Kinnear. (Johnny also was a producer on each of these films.)
In 2018, Johnny was nominated as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.
