Have you ever wondered where you get some of your characteristics from? Barry Jay’s latest thriller, Like Father Like Son, explores just that, by diving deep into the hereditary nature of violence.
Like Father Like Son is an emotional thriller about how far one man will go to end a brutal cycle of violence. Eli is a young man whose father waits on death row for the crime of murder in the first degree. As Eli’s life begins to fall apart, he discovers similar terrifying triggers in himself and takes extreme measures to ensure that the family’s string of savagery comes to an end.
Written and directed by Barry Jay, the film stars Dylan Flashner, Ariel Winter, Vivica A. Fox, Jim Klock, Prima Apollinaare, Eric Michael Cole, Mayim Bialik, and Dermot Mulroney.

Director/Writer Barry Jay
Barry Jay’s journey from a struggling artist and drug addict to a celebrated entrepreneur and filmmaker is inspiring. Originally moving to Los Angeles with dreams of songwriting, Barry’s path took many unexpected turns, leading him to the fitness industry where he founded Barry’s Bootcamp in 1998. This venture transformed not just his life but also the landscape of boutique fitness, growing into a global phenomenon with over 80 studios worldwide.
Barry’s creative spirit thrived beyond the gym walls, eventually venturing into the realm of filmmaking. He wrote and directed his first feature, Ashes, In 2018, and followed it with Killer Therapy, which included a who’s who of ’80s horror icons including P.J. Soles and Adrienne King. His 2022 project The Way Out (with Sherri Shepherd, Mike Manning, and Ashleigh Murray) garnered the Audience Award for Feature Film and Best LGBTQ Feature Film at the Burbank International Film Festival, and his latest film, Like Father Like Son, has been picked up by Lionsgate.
Now, almost 20 years sober, Barry resides in Henderson, Nevada, with his husband and their three rescue dogs. He continues to pursue his passions, including pottery, writing, and supporting local dog rescues. His collection of horror memorabilia is a testament to his love for the genre, while his life story serves as an example of innovation, and the relentless pursuit of one’s dreams.
Dylan Flashner
Dylan Flashner is a Los Angeles-based actor and musician. Native to Boston, Dylan studied at Chapman University, where he was a collegiate athlete. He has been active in various arts since graduating, and has worked as a recording artist for the last four years. Though Dylan’s love and passion for acting stemmed from a very young age, it wasn’t until he was discovered on a music video set in 2017 that he began to pursue a career as an actor.
Dylan is revamping the term “triple threat” in the entertainment industry. Alongside Oh, Canada, he recently starred in Prey (Ryan Phillippe and Mena Suvari), Bandit (Josh Duhamel and Elisa Cuthbert,) and Vanquish (Morgan Freeman). Dylan’s previous acting projects include Collide, The Card Counter, Deltopia, The Comeback Trail, Farewell Amor, and Hot Seat. As an executive producer, Dylan was most recently a part of Christina Ricci’s latest film, Monstrous, now available on streaming platforms.
In addition to film and television, Dylan is a creative singer-songwriter, with songs including “Bad Habits,” “All Day,” and “Clouds.” Through his music and performances, the Spotify-verified artist hopes to have a positive impact on his audience. As a philanthropist, Dylan also works closely with charities such as the MS Society, which his family is a part of; The American Cancer Society; and the Luke Strong Foundation.
